Receipt book, receipt app or e-cash register? How to choose.

Not every business needs to replace the same thing. Some need to organise reporting alongside a receipt book; others already issue receipts through software. First establish how you issue documents, then choose the tools around it.

Fizgo's own guide for businesses in Hungary, using official sources. It is not an independent product test or individual tax advice. Establish your exact duties from the activity you actually carry out.

First establish which document you issue.

A card-payment confirmation describes what happened to the payment. It is not automatically a fiscal receipt. An invoice, a computer-generated receipt and a statutory e-receipt are also different documents, with different workflows.

The Hungarian statutory e-nyugta specifically belongs to the e-cash-register system. Emailing a receipt does not automatically make it one. Fizgo's launch receipt workflow concerns computer-generated receipts and reporting their data, not an approved e-cash register.

A receipt book needs an organised reporting process.

Manual handling is not inherently the wrong choice. Where applicable rules permit it, entering data through NAV's electronic interface can be a workable approach. Decide who aggregates the information, who submits it and who checks errors.

The general reporting rule is within three calendar days, aggregated daily by VAT rate. Corrections and cancellations matter too. Exceptions and detailed requirements mean you should start from NAV's current guidance, not rely solely on a short article summary.

  • Plan for reporting as well as issuing the receipt.
  • Know where processing and errors will be checked.
  • Low volume alone does not create an exemption.

For automation, ask which receipts it covers.

A suitable system can automate reporting from receipts issued in its software. That does not mean old receipt books and documents from every other app are automatically included. Ask which documents feed the report and what happens when processing fails.

Billingo and Számlázz.hu also describe automatic receipt-data reporting and publish free or temporary offers. Fizgo does not claim exclusivity. Compare the full workflow, plan terms and manual tasks that remain, not just the presence of an automation label.

Four directions, not four identical products.

The table separates workflows. A provider's computer-generated receipt product and its separate e-cash-register product should not be treated as the same thing, even when they share a brand.

Keeping an appropriate, functioning system can be as valid a decision as introducing a new one. Missing information is therefore not a red cross in the comparison. It is a condition to verify with the provider or your accountant.

Where can Fizgo help?

Fizgo may fit if you want in-person payments, cash records and your own receipts in one mobile workflow. On an appropriate paid plan and after a successfully verified NAV connection, the system handles reporting for receipts issued in Fizgo.

Issuance, submission and acceptance are separate states. A compatible printer can help with paper delivery; it does not replace the NAV connection. Fizgo Free's non-fiscal cash record does not fulfil fiscal receipt-issuance or receipt-data reporting duties.

  1. Connect to NAV
  2. Issue a receipt in Fizgo
  3. Automatic data reporting

A product name does not replace a mandatory fiscal system.

If your activity requires a cash register, check those rules first. Accepting payments or emailing documents is not enough to establish suitability. Fizgo does not replace an online or hardware-based e-cash register legally required for your activity.

If you issue invoices exclusively, clarify that workflow instead; Fizgo does not issue invoices at launch. For mixed operations, consider invoices and receipts separately. Introducing an app does not automatically remove other duties.

Choose a next step you can actually verify.

The quiz helps you describe your current process and what you want to change. It does not inspect your business's tax position, log into NAV or certify compliance. Uncertain cash-register requirements are the first matter to discuss with your accountant.

The related NAV page summarises the current dates and Fizgo reporting process. Before choosing, compare current plans, the connection you need and where you can follow processing of submitted data. This English guide concerns Hungarian requirements, not international service availability.
